Traffic
Traffic on G.T road is phenomenal problematic. it is messy and hateful. i always frustrated when i was on G.T road. It taught me how to get out of tight corners when sandwiched between two diesel-smoke throwing big Trucks. It gave me an insight into the lives of common men when endlessly parked alongside a crowded bus. But perhaps most importantly, it gave me a benchmark to measure my relief and offer thanks as I now whiz past the same stretch in under two minutes, flying over DC Road and GT road. It taught me the quality of patience and forward planning. There is no profit in fretting and fuming.
rickshaw
I have been living at Jinnah road near DC under pass , there is a big junction of rickshaws , the crackling of a rickshaw often breaks the silence of the night. There are some rickshaws whose engine sound resembles the burst of a Kalashnikov. In Gujranwala , this mode of transport is very popular among all classes, directly or indirectly, thousands of families are dependent on them.I loved to discover new facts about cultures of differetn cities, i used to ask tactfully about culture and daily life issues. Conversations with rickshaw drivers can be revealing as it gives one an insight into their lives — their hardships, meagre earnings, problems with police and passengers, hopes, patriotism and views on politics. Most rickshaw drivers appear rude. This behaviour is less due to their working conditions — smoke, noise, traffic jams, economic pressures
